Madlib
So my first Hip Hop Monday post is on Stones Throw Dj/Mc/Producer Madlib.
Hailing from LA, the man with many pseudonyms rocks an abstract style in his beats and bars and has won acclaim from the underground hip hop community all over.
His production style sounds traces of his late great friend J Dilla (and rightly so, JD lives on in the best of them). He resides on Peanut Butter Wolfs label Stones Throw which has brought us releases from the likes of J-Rocc, M.E.D, MF Doom, Percee P and Rob Swift (all names to check).
There's nothing I can pick in particular to listen to from Madlib, it's all sick, so just check his myspace or buy his shit, its wicked. Also check his latest Tees which are pretty damn sweet.
